About Annette Summersett
Annette's music making journey started with her innate tendency to tell stories through song. Originally from Michigan's Upper Peninsula, she was initially inspired by her natural surroundings, which was a perfect match for a burgeoning acoustic folk songwriter. This progressed in to Annette taking a leap of faith in her music career and moving to Los Angeles in her 20's, where she performed in the music venue circuit, wrote children's music for Baby Genius, released her own album of contemporary Folk/Americana songs, and worked in the studio with some talented producers and musicians.
She then moved to the Napa Valley in Northern CA, where she continued to perform but also began to produce music herself. She eventually found her way back to her home state of Michigan, this time in the Traverse City area, where the artist in her could be re-united with the Great Lakes.
It is here on the shores of Lake Michigan, where Dune Flower Productions was born.

Annette brings her many years of music industry experience to the table, high-lighted by standout events like her songwriting retreat with legendary Nashville songwriter, Rodney Crowell; and professional achievements such as cutting her album 'Solid Earth and Gold' in Minneapolis, MN with the late Ed Ackerson (producer: 'Flowers Studio'), bass player Marc Perlman of the Jayhawks, and Minneapolis famed drummer Peter Anderson.
During her tenure as a song-writer for Baby Genius, her song 'You Are a Rainbow,' written for Baby Genius and used by Rainbow Fish and Hasbro's My Little Pony, was submitted for a children's grammy.
Her recent 'EP From the Woods,' a collection of alt folk songs, was produced with Peter Craft of Boxer Lodge Studios in Napa Valley, CA.
